Microsoft : Projet "Velocity" ?
Bientôt les TechEd l'occasion de glaner des infos sur les nouveautés chez Microsoft et de se mettre à niveau sur l'ensemble des technologies du géant du logiciel.
En faisant des petites recherches sur le planning des sessions, une d'entre elles m'a sauté aux yeux :
Microsoft Code Name Project “Velocity” for Scalable and Available Applications
Microsoft code name Project “Velocity” is an application cache platform that seamlessly integrates a large cluster of machines into a single unified cache with scale and high availability. Application data tends to fall into three main classes. Reference data (e.g., product catalogs) is mostly read-only data, typically shared by many users; activity data (e.g., shopping carts, orders) represents session state and tends to be read-write, typically by a single session; and resource data (e.g., inventory) is data that is read and updated by multiple application sessions. Performance and scalability are essential for all applications regardless of the kinds of data they deal with. For activity and resource data, availability is equally critical. In this talk, we introduce the new caching solution from Microsoft, Project “Velocity”, a distributed in-memory cache that can cache application data and provide performance, scalability, and availability with commodity clusters.
